Where to send it
Use our demo form: tstack.app/box-of-cats. It goes straight into the A&R queue with everything we need attached, which is why it gets listened to faster than an email.
Nine Lives Club members get a separate members-only demo address after signing up. Tracks sent there go to the front of the queue. More about membership.
What to send
- One or two tracks. Send your strongest work, not your whole folder. If we like one, we'll ask for more.
- A private streaming link — SoundCloud or Dropbox is ideal. Please don't attach large files.
- Finished or close to it. Rough ideas are hard to judge; a solid arrangement tells us far more than a loop.
- Track name, your artist name, and a contact email in the message itself.
- A line about yourself if you've released elsewhere. One or two sentences is plenty.
What fits the label
Box of Cats releases house, bass house and club-focused electronic music. If you're not sure whether your track is in range, the catalogue is the best guide — it's ten years of exactly what we sign.
What to expect
- Everything submitted through the form gets listened to.
- We can't reply to every demo. The volume is genuinely too high for that, and we'd rather be honest about it than promise a response we can't give.
- If a track is right for us, you'll usually hear back within two to three weeks.
- No reply isn't a verdict on your music. Send us the next one.
Please don't
- Send the same track repeatedly, or follow up more than once.
- Mass-CC a list of labels — we can see it, and so can everyone else.
- Send mastered-for-release files at the demo stage. If we sign it, we'll sort masters together.
